Sometime last spring, I was approached by Oxford University Press about writing a text book on alternative processes in photography. It took a while to sort it all out, but the whole negotiation began with my writing three chapters (if you scroll back a bit, a draft of my introduction was posted here), and then those chapters were sent out to 25 reviewers in the field (education and photography). As described when the negotiations first began, the results of these peer reviews would determine whether or not we’d go forward with the book.
Well, the results are in, and the reviews were fantastic. My book with OUP is officially under contract. Due to be released in 2016, Alternate Processes in Photography: Technique, History, and Creative Practice.
