Notes on Landscape

Notes made after photographing landscapes in Andover, NY:

Andover, NY, midday — abandoned tracks splitting water reservoir at the base of a valley — muted sun of an overcast day — sound of birds perched high on winter branches above the reservoir, moving from songs and chirps to flight — sound of cars passing on the highway overhead — patterns of light and wind accross the surface of the water (patterns of thought, changing from motion to stillness) — large birds (a sort of crane or goose), flight shows it’s strength and independence — gun shots from a distance echo through the valley as I depart — each day a new day, each ripple unique
